Welcome to Domestic Battle
The Department of Veterans Affairs estimates nearly 196,000 veterans are homeless on any given night. According to some reports approximately 400,000 veterans experience homelessness during the year. Those that braved battlefields, risked the ultimate sacrifice and have given so much to protect the freedoms we hold dear, return home to face a different battle. Statistically a large number of homeless veterans, suffer from varied mental defects that stem from their time served and experiences. In addition to the complex set of factors affecting all homeless individuals – extreme shortage of affordable housing, livable income, and limited access to health care – a large number of displaced and at risk veterans live with lingering effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and substance abuse, compounded by a lack of family and social support networks.
We find this unacceptable.
Domestic Battle is a national non-profit organization with a single mission, to end homelessness among those that have selflessly sacrificed and served in our nation's armed forces. Via our core counseling programs, fund raising efforts and help from a thankful nation we strive to better and end the plight of homeless veterans throughout America as soon as possible.
